Something's Missing

Day 7 of The October Daily

Go without something (e.g. phone, twitter) for a day and tell us what it feels like.

Easy! In my case, its my cellphone and Facebook. My cellphone usage has lessened when I graduated college. During that time, cellphones are very essential for communicating with group mates and org mates but right now there's the ever reliable Twitter, Skype and Instagram which are enough to chat/catch up with friends. Although I'm still addicted to my phone and I cannot live without it. I managed to go without it for a day for today. As for the latter, I always prefer using twitter that's why I kind of neglect my Facebook and it has been like that for quite some time now. For me, it doesn't feel like I'm missing something when I do not use them for days cause I'm used to it already and I've found better means of communicating with others.

Another one I'd like to share is going without rice for a month. In my country, rice is a staple dish in every meal that's why it is so difficult to control myself. Rice is so good but very fattening. I really love to eat and my mom cooks a variety of great tasting dishes everyday that's why most of the time,  avoiding them feels like torture. lol I've decided to eliminate it in my diet last week as I'm desperate in getting back in shape. I miss eating it a lot actually, but I'll try my best. I've a pretty high self-control especially when I'm serious about losing weight.

  1. Omg I can't imagine how I would live without rice! Kahit wala nang ulam basta may rice! Hahah!

I haven't been on facebook too. Im mostly on blogger and twitter now. Fb is full of drama and other stuff I can't relate to. I feel like scrolling down my wall is just a complete waste of time.

    1. So true haha But a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. I have a slow metabolism so its kinda hard for me to lose weight and rice is definitely the culprit of my weight gain.. But you know, I really miss saying extra rice please haha

I agree again. And I think too much FB can stress you out as well, at least according to studies.

  2. Going without rice would not work in my household. We have rice usually every other day (if not more often).

    1. Yup same here and my 5 brothers have a huge appetite for it and we'd cook like 5 cups of rice in one meal. Sometimes I get too carried away and eat a lot of but I'm currently very serious about losing weight that's why I've decided to forgo it. But let's see how long this thing will last haha wish me luck
